Lighting and Photoshop Compositing Tutorial: Episode 1

Youtube This 40 minute tutorial by lighting expert Jayesunn Krump and author/Photoshop expert Bret Malley covers how to light, shoot, and edit a mysterious fantasy composite titled "The Traveler" using speedlights and Adobe Photoshop. These two pros will take you through their initial setup, equipment, shooting strategy, and the entire editing process loaded with tips and tricks (such as making a moon from metal, adding mysterious glare and atmosphere, custom smoke brushwork, warm glow from a lantern, and loads more!). In this very first pilot episode, both experts walk you through the setup and finishing touches of creating a mysterious scene using a model shot in a controlled studio, then compositing these model shots with several different outdoor scenes crafted to look like nighttime. If the dark-lit and rugged landscape setting wasn't foreboding enough by itself, these two creatives also throw in a menacing assassin leaping and silhouetted by the moon. So sit back with a notepad and enjoy the first ever episode by Photoforge Creative! Keep a look out for competitions and giveaways (such as Bret's Adobe Press book, Adobe Master Class: Advanced Compositing in Photoshop!). Stay tuned!
